The layang scad is a cigar-shaped fish, with greenish coloration on top and white below. Their opercles usually have a small, black spot.
Layang scad is a one of the most common fishes in Vietnam seas, the number of Layang scad and Scad family is huge, occurs from the northern to the southern seas. Layang scad is so popular fish in daily Vietnam meals thanks to its nutrition and reasonable price. Every year Vietnam exports a remarkable quantity of Frozen Layang scad to Japan Philippine, Malaysia and Asia market. Scad Fishes are a main source of income for the millions coastal Vietnamese.
The Season of Layang scad is whole year round. Layang scad catching are purse seine, trawl, lift net.
Layang scad is very suitable to do dried or seasoned. It’s fantastic when you try grilled or fried dried layang scad. Dried layang scad is known as Vietnamese special food. It’s as good gift for family, friends and people who are abroad.

BASEAFOOD has more than 5,000 skilled workers  and 90 Seafood Processing Engineers. We can process 5-6 containers per day approximating 100 tons of finished products.
